Wow!

Is all I can say about The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

Suzanne Collins does it again! Writing such a deep and compelling story that holds such thought and understanding. She is truly a magnificent writer and storyteller.

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is a Hunger Games series novel that is classified as a prequel but it is so much more than that.

It is it’s own book and own story. Which is one of the main reasons why I love this book so much. I usually hate prequels/sequels because they often feel unneeded and were just written to make a profit. This book is far from that. It adds a whole new layer of depth to the Hunger Games world and a more complete understanding of why it works as it does.

The book is written from the viewpoint of President Snow as a 18 year old boy at the Academy where he was assigned to be a mentor for the 10th Hunger Games.

I could ramble on for hours about why this book is amazing but here are my top 10 reasons why the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes has earned its place in my all time favorite books.
